Stress reduction techniques
We want to reduce stress that slowly changes mental physiological functioning and develops into sickness.
Activate behavior that reduces stress:
- Find daily minutes for fun and relaxation. Regular relaxation and fun time will put you in a better place to handle triggers of stress when they inevitably come. Include rest and relaxation in your daily schedule
- Take a break from your work, duties or responsibilities and do that you like
- Engage in outdoor activities
- Eat healthy
- Give up smoking or drinking alcohol
- Start regular running, jogging, yoga, dancing or go to gym
- Take care of your body – massage or spa give your body a nice relax
Other ways to reduce stress:
- Acceptance may be difficult but you can learn
- Try to see the problems as opportunities for growth
- Emphasize the solutions rather than problems
- Overcome procrastination
- Focus on problem solving
- Use personal statements
- Practice mental imagery to relax
- Create a priority list
- Build mindfulness
- Learn letting go
- Start meditating
- Use deep and relaxing breathing
- Build healthy relationships
- Use positive self-talk to reduce stress
